In honor of the life and Legacy of Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. this project operates to present scholarship to students, ages 15-19, who have made a difference serving in their schools, neighborhoods, and communities.  Over 120 students have been honored for their commitment to social justice.

Each year food, toys, gift cards, and clothes are provided to individuals, families, and seniors in the community. In recent years, PVS-NCNW assisted a local convalescent facility with needed items for 20 seniors. In addition, we partnered with a local church to assist with the Angel Tree project to ensure children of incarcerated parents have a good Christmas.

Concert Under the Stars -  Is a fundraiser event sponsored by Herbert & Kay Hafif Foundation of La Verne, Ca. for non-profit organizations to raise funds by offering them an opportunity to enjoy a concert on their estate by selling tickets to the public to this event and keeping  100% of the profits. The concert has live music, good food and an opportunity to network with other business, charities and community agencies at no cost to them. The concerts are scheduled during the summer months and we welcome you to participate by contacting us on our website.

CLASP  is a collaboration of the City of Claremont, Claremont Unified School District, National Council of Negro Women and Pitzer College. It is a non-profit organization that offers tutoring, mentoring and healthy snacks to about 180 elementary school children through the service of professional site supervisors of 5 different locations in the City of Claremont. The tutoring is offered by college students, retired teachers, and volunteers from the community. Healthy snacks are provided by the school district and assist with funding cultural activities throughout the year. National Council of Negro Women co-founded the program. It is currently being funded by private and public funding. Donations are welcome through the website.

In preparation of children returning to school, backpacks are filled with school supplies and distributed to churches in the community.

Events are held throughout the year, in support of on-going programs and events.  Fundraiser events include: Concert Under the Stars, Black and White Gala, Quartermania and  casino bus trip.
